Researchers studied 49 healthy women (average age 24.5 ye ars) and examined their daily eating and drinking habits, with a focus on water consumption. Based on a questionnaire, the participants were divided into two groups:
Group 1: Drank less than 3,200 mL (3.2 L) of water per day (38 participants).
Group 2: Drank more than 3,200 mL per day (11 participants).
For one month, Group 2 was asked to drink an additional 2 liters of water daily to see how extra hydration affected their skin. Skin health was measured at the beginning of the study (Day 0), halfway through (Day 15), and at the end (Day 30).
Scientists checked hydration levels on the face, arms, and legs, looking at both surface moisture and deeper hydration. They also tested skin elasticity and water loss.
The results showed that drinking more water significantly improved both deep and surface hydration, especially in those who previously drank less water. Skin elasticity and other important factors also improved.
This study confirms that increasing daily water intake can have a positive impact on skin hydration and overall health. People who don’t drink enough water may see the most noticeable improvements.

Can Drinking Too Much Water Be Dangerous?
